How the fuck can it be that one of the biggest software companies in the world, who’s main thing it is to make and maintain an operating system, fucks up so badly doing exactly that???

Windows is usable, obviously, but it does not go beyond that. What kind of drugs was the guy on who thought it was a good idea to put ads in an operating system that people paid for. And yeah I know, you can turn off the ads but that’s a huge pain in the ass.

And don’t get me started on updates. Windows just seems to do those whenever it wants. Making you wait to use your computer just to install some update you didn’t even consent to in the first place. When Windows 11 came out I decided to update from Windows 10 without doing any research(huge mistake). A few days of using it was the last straw that made me switch to Linux.

What also bothers me is that over time Windows has just become the default option. You buy a computer that isn’t made by apple? You get windows. And of course most people don’t bother changing their OS, which gives Microsoft so much influence. Schools, govenment, companies, everybody uses Windows and other Microsoft products,so there’s literally no way around their crap. I can’t not use Windows, and I think that’s kinda fucked up.
